Settling Sun

January 18, 2013

Advancing the sun by hours,

sleep comes on like a drug:

winding kudzu cuddles for our brain

waves to fall into, leaving lazy

neurons to flicker,

soon followed by listing eyelids

that settle the psyche gently

into the dark womb of dreams

with all the other children.
